North Central West Virginia-based Trilogy Innovations named state’s #1 business by Inc. 5000

Minority-owned tech business also 31st fastest-growing IT services company in the nation

BRIDGEPORT, West Virginia — August 31, 2022 — Trilogy Innovations, Inc., has made its inaugural appearance in the Inc. 5000 at #590, company officials announced today. In deciding the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. for its annual list, Inc. Magazine also determined that Trilogy, a Small Business Administration Certified 8(a) small and minority-owned systems and software engineering firm, was West Virginia’s fastest-growing business and the 31st fastest-growing company in the nation in the IT Services category.

The evaluation and listing in the Inc. 5000 detailed a growth rate of 1,074% for Trilogy, which has offices in Bridgeport and Morgantown in the north central region of the state.

“It goes without saying that this honor comes as the result of endless hard work by our entire team,” said Brandon Downey, Trilogy president and CEO. “This is something we must attribute to all of our employees and partners. They are Trilogy.”

Trilogy was founded by Downey and Chief Operating Officer and Vice President Randy Cottle with one specific goal: to architect and develop the highest quality systems and software by using proven products and engineering practices to efficiently and effectively solve customer problems in the most cost-effective manner. In addition to its status as an 8(a) small and minority-owned business, the company has been chosen by the SBA as HUBZone certified, a designation for small companies that operate and employ people in Historically Under-utilized Business Zones.

“A strong work ethic and an unwavering commitment to excellence are woven into the fabric of Trilogy,” Cottle said. “We have successfully applied these core values across government agencies such as the FBI, U.S. Air Force, NASA, and the U.S. Navy because we hold ourselves to this higher standard.”

Downey said that the success of the company thus far has been built on partnerships between Trilogy and large, small, and startup companies.

"Partnerships have afforded us great opportunities to grow and demonstrate our capabilities, ranging from our top-notch subject matter experts to the connections we have in the industry,” said Downey. “Our successes have allowed us to raise our game to the point where we can take on the role of the prime contractor as easily as the role of a subcontractor.”

Notification of the ranking, Cottle said, has had the best possible impact on the company.

“We are deeply honored by this recognition in the Inc. 5000. This is a real milestone and is validation of our team’s hard work,” said Cottle. “We believe that a company is defined by its reputation for quality and service. That’s how we do business now and that’s how we’ll do business in the future.”
